Mateo Terracotta Planter
The Mateo Terracotta Planter is hand-shaped by artisans in Sabanagrande, Honduras, a small town with a long tradition of working with natural clay. Made to order by Meso Goods, each planter comes out of the studio slightly different from the last: the clay responds to the hands that form it, and those subtle shifts in tone, curve, and surface are what make this piece worth having. No two are identical.
At 8.5" wide and 6.25" tall, the Mateo has a low, grounded presence, wide enough to hold a generous plant, proportioned to sit comfortably on a floor, a shelf, or a low table without demanding attention. The warm earthy tone of natural terracotta reads beautifully against almost any green, and the unadorned surface lets the material speak for itself.
There is no drainage hole, so the Mateo works best paired with a plastic nursery pot placed inside, this keeps your plant healthy and makes watering easy without compromising the look. Every purchase directly supports sustainable livelihoods for artisan families in Sabanagrande.
