Each tote is handwoven by skilled artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Northern Ghana, where the art of bolga weaving has been passed down for centuries. Preparing and weaving the elephant grass is a meticulous process, taking up to a week to soften, split, and twist the fibers before weaving begins. A single tote may take 3–5 days to complete, making every piece a true work of art.
